Oh Lord, we beg You to return from the Tabor mountain to us! Come to our souls, to our houses! Come to the places where suffer and work for a piece of bread. Come to the places where we being crucified by people, demons and passions! If Peter does want to get down from the mountain leave him there, but come to visit us!
Teach us how to get saved by You, show us how to endure the rigours. Train us to carry the life’s cross. Teach our souls to be crucified. Come and suffer for us, get crucified for us to compensate our sins, be killed for us, show us new way to be saved through sufferings.
Oh, how much do we wish to stay with Peter on the Tabor mountain. But we wear our bodies which pant with illnesses, lust and passions. In our chests we have hearts full with hatred. In our houses we have children asking us for bread!
Oh, how do we wish to be with Peter there – on the Tabor mountain! Although we see ourselves surrounded by fog of sins. We beg You not to leave us, but descend to us to the foot of the mountain. We are waiting You here together with Your apostles. We are hungry, we are naked, we are pilgrims and orphans, children and old people, widows and poor, sick and grieving – we all are waiting for You to come. Come to us and resign with us.
We beg You to come down even further, to the seashore, where life struggles in the waves, where ships break up over the cliffs and so many sails get ripped off in the strong wind and so many souls are brought down to the bottom of the sea by the great power of waves. We know that the mountain with its calmness calls for You to pray, although we beg You to look at the sea with mercy. There, far away, the waves break over the shores with great strength. And this is our world. The ships try to get through the waves, wind and night. And this is people.
We beg You to come down to the abyss, to the man’s heart, where light is mixed with the darkness, live is mixed with death, joy with sorrow, truth with lies, time with eternity. Come here, where we – people suffer, resign with us, transform the world’s face, join our souls in mutual understanding and peace!
